“We are looking forward to claiming the crown in Germany!” – LeoVegas’ Germany team

Following the successful launch of LeoVegas.de on the German market on 26 April, we had the opportunity to sit down with the LeoVegas.de team and discuss their experience in entering one of Europe’s largest and most exciting markets. As the German market continues to grow and evolve, LeoVegas.de aims to establish itself as a leader in the space, offering a unique, tailored, and mobile-first experience to German players.

In this interview with Sabine Fuxjaeger, Country Manager Germany and Jennifer Auer, Marketing Manager Germany, we delve into the opportunities that come with launching virtual slot machines in Germany, as well as LeoVegas.de‘s plans for the future as it looks to expand its presence in the market.

You just launched LeoVegas.de in Germany—congratulations! Can you briefly walk us through the launch?

Sabine: “We prepared for this launch for almost a year, and we wanted to be ready as soon as we were granted the license, to not delay our entry into the German market. Over 230 employees from more than 10 different departments were involved in the Germany project, and all went the extra mile to make the project a success. We even created our own design concept fully in-house to make sure everything is aligned with our brand. I’m very proud, big shout out to all the teams involved!”

What types of games and features can players expect to find on LeoVegas.de?

Jennifer: “We offer entertaining slot games that have all been approved by the German regulator GGL. Currently, these include games from renowned studios such as Play’n Go, Greentube/Novomatic, Gamomat, Pragmatic Play, Synot and Relax. Play’n Go was particularly important as they offer the classic fan-favourite “Book of Dead” slot. Additionally, Pragmatic Play provides entertaining games such as “Wolf Gold” and “The Dog House” for our German customers.

But this is just the beginning! We are in the process of adding more games, and we will announce the titles once they have received the official stamp of approval from GGL.”

What sets LeoVegas.de apart from other operators in Germany, and what makes it attractive to German players?

Sabine: “From the very beginning, LeoVegas’ approach was “mobile-first”and I would say that LeoVegas Group’s apps are some of the best in the industry. Approximately 75 percent of our customers use their smartphones to play online, and we cater especially to them. Our app, specifically adapted to the German market, will launch later this year, and we are really looking forward to it.

Additionally, we have tailored a great customer experience. All of our customer service agents are native German speakers and work directly in our main office. We pride ourselves on having great in-house services and that communication with our customers is in their native language.”

How important is responsible gambling to LeoVegas Group, and what steps are being taken to ensure that German players can gamble safely and responsibly on LeoVegas.de?

Jennifer: “Responsible gambling is one of LeoVegas Group’s top priorities. We invest a lot in product research, development, and technology so we can be confident that we’re delivering the best gaming experience. Unfortunately, there is no easy, one-stop-shop solution for addressing harmful behavior, which is why we have a range of tools that we continuously apply and develop.

In Germany, we offer tools such as a panic button, which triggers a 24-hour game exclusion, a national monthly deposit limit of a maximum of €1,000 across all operators in Germany, and a centralised self-exclusion system via the German OASIS. Many other requirements for German regulations have been implemented before the launch in Germany.”

What are some of the biggest goals for LeoVegas.de in the coming years, and how do you plan to achieve them?

Sabine: “We are looking forward to claiming the crown in Germany! And naturally, all of our plans include a customer-first approach. We listen closely to our players and implement changes based on their feedback and suggestions, while also choosing the latest technology. It’s important to stay ahead of the game with functionality, security, and entertainment to ensure that we offer the greatest gaming experience for our players.”
